PRODUCT SAFETY INFORMATION
All Myia-Karen's scented candles, room/linen sprays, car fresheners, massage oils and hand soaps are made using fragrance oils (sometimes infused with essential oils) that are considered to be safe for domestic use by the respective manufacturers.
Information about Fragrance Oils we use:
Every fragrance oil we use to make our products is phthalate free and avoid 5 main hazard groups.
✖ Carcinogens: These are materials known or thought to cause cancer.
✖ Mutagens: Materials that change the DNA of a cell, harming the cell and causing diseases like cancer.
✖ Reproductive toxins: Toxins that adversely affect reproductive organs and increase the risk of birth defects.
✖ Organ toxins: These are toxins that can cause adverse effects or disease within specific bodily organs.
✖ Acute toxins: Toxins that can cause adverse effects from a single exposure. Generally, this would be accidental exposure like spillage or ingestion.
WHY WE USE COCONUT SOY & BEES WAX
Myia-Karen uses Coconut Soy Wax to create our candles and wax melts and Bees Wax for our Aesthetic Candles .
Coconut soy wax is a blend of coconut wax and soy wax, which creates a unique combination of benefits that other waxes cannot match.
Beeswax (also known as cera alba) is a natural wax produced by honey bees.
One of the main reasons we chose these types of wax for our candles and wax melts is that they are natural and renewable resources made from natural ingredients that are sustainable and eco-friendly. Unlike paraffin wax, which is made from petroleum, and has been found to contain known carcinogens (cancer-causing agents) such as benzene.
Another benefit is that they burn longer, cleaner and produce way less soot and smoke than other waxes. They also hold and distribute fragrance oils more effectively, allowing us to create stronger and longer-lasting scented candles.
One disadvantage is that the cost of producing these waxes is relatively higher than that of other wax types. As a result, candles made using these waxes can be a little bit pricier compared to other candles.
